故事讲述二十世纪初满清灭亡后军阀割据的动荡时局下，张卫健饰演的狄奇从一个力求独善其身的平凡小人物在恶势力压迫下奋起反抗的励志故事。 此次为了拍摄新剧《大帅哥》，张卫健奉献其出道三十年来拍摄周期最长的诚意演出，他却坦诚表示自己最终决定回TVB拍摄新剧，是因为他 在做身体检查时觉得如果病人在病房中看到他的作品会感到快乐，能够因他的演出而暂时忘却病痛，会让自己觉得所有的一切都是值得的，因此义无反顾不计酬劳回巢拍戏。
